Renovation of an educational facility in Santa Cruz, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) Office of Physical Planning, Development and Operations invites the written submission of Qualification documents from experienced professionals to serve as Executive Engineer for life safety modernization - fire alarm modernization. Design services will include replacement of the existing panels and end devices with newer technology that would allow for a quicker emergency response time. The services include Pre-Design and Assessment Study, Planning, Design and Construction Documents, including Bidding and Construction Administration services to work on projects related to life safety modernization - fire alarm modernization. The scope, site conditions, size may vary. The cost of the potential projects will range from $600,000 to $1,000,000. When needed, the selected consultant must be able to start work immediately and provide staff support in alignment with the specific project schedule. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law and University policy. Each Candidate Executive Design Professional may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. When needed, the selected consultants must be able to start work immediately and provide staff support in alignment with the specific project schedule. The University requires evidence of insurance coverage: General Liability, Professional Liability, Automobile Liability, and Worker's Compensation. If the architect does not currently have coverage in accordance with the University's policies, then evidence should be submitted indicating that such coverage will be effective prior to entering into a contractual agreement with the University. Consultants must be California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) registered. Interested firms will be required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) and other documentation demonstrating related experience, using standard forms to be provided by the University. The tentative schedule for completion of review of Statement of Qualifications is February 2025. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for February. All qualification packets are to be submitted on the University's standard forms. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The cost of the potential projects will range from $600,000 to $1,000,000
