Demolition and site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Summerland, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Contractor will provide labor and materials for the following scope of work to replace the playground at Lookout Park: Demolish and dispose of all existing play structures (see attached photo). Demolish and dispose of approximately 3,305 square feet (sf) of existing 3.5" of Pour-In-Place (PIP) rubberized surfacing system. Demolish and dispose of approximately 3,305 sf of existing reinforced concrete sub surfacing at 4" thick and existing concrete footings. Concrete curbing to remain. Prepare and install approximately 3,305 sf of 4" thick reinforced 3,000psi concrete sub-surface with a 95% compacted base. Rebar to be #3 at 18" on center Install all play equipment and shade structures shown on the attached plan per manufacturers drawings and details. The playground equipment shall be provided by Owner. The PIP Rubberized surfacing system shall be installed by Owner. Contractor to coordinate installation of PIP rubberized surfacing system prior to installation of play equipment and shade structures: Coordinate delivery of all play equipment, anticipated mid-late March 2025, with Owner and manufacturer. CONSTRUCTION COST ESTIMATE: $50,000 CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE: The Contractor shall possess Class A and C-61/D-34 licenses at the time this Contract is awarded. A Class A Contractor may utilize properly licensed C-61/D-34 subcontractors. CONSTRUCTION TIME: The successful Contractor (after receiving the Notice to Proceed) shall have thirty (30) calendar days to complete all work called for under the Contract Documents. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: The liquidated damages will be One Hundred Dollars ($100) per day for project delays that are determined to be attributable to the Contractor. EXAMINATION OF SITE: Each bidder shall examine the site of work before bidding and shall be responsible for having acquired full knowledge of the job and of all problems affecting it. No variations or allowances from the contract sum will be made because of lack of such examination. COUNTY PURCHASE ORDER AND BONDING: The contract for this project will be performed under a County Purchase Order (P.O.) and the contractor shall agree to the terms of the County P.O. Contractor shall submit certified payroll with each pay request. A bid bond is not required for this project; however, a performance bond for the full bid amount shall be required prior to release of the County Purchase Order. Contractor is responsible for reviewing and complying with the terms and conditions and insurance requirements for a Public Project, which can be found on the County website at: StdCond for Indep Contractor and 20dc-4259-4e3f-4d62-83d2-8ff330186123. PREVAILING WAGES: Bidders are hereby notified that that all work performed under this agreement is subject to the prevailing wage rates pursuant to the California Labor Code. Pursuant to Section 1770. et seq. of the California Labor Code, the contractor and all subcontractors shall not pay less than the prevailing rate of per diem wages as predetermined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. Copies of the prevailing rate of per diem wages pursuant to the California Labor Code are on file at the County Department of Community Services Parks Division and are available to any interested party on request. In addition: No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)]. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations.
