Monongalia County Board of Education (board) is Seeking Expressions of Interest From Qualified Individuals or Firms to Serve as Construction Manager at Risk (Cmar) for the New Suncrest Middle School, a Jointly Funded Project Between the School Building Authority of Wv and the Board. The Board Intends to Use the Cmar Delivery Method Under W.va. Code 5-22-b-1 for the Selection of Qualified Firms. The New Suncrest Middle School Will Be Located in Morgantown, West Virginia. The scope of work will be the construction of a new approximately 86,000-square-foot building, most of the building footprint will be a single-story, with a three- story Academic Section on the eastern side. The project will include site/civil work, standard spread-footing foundations, general construction of structural, architectural, mechanical , electrical , plumbing, fire suppression, food services, and building systems. The building material selection is ICF ( Insulated Concrete Forms) with brick veneer, steel joist framing, with concrete over metal decking for elevated floors, and metal decking for roofs; rubber (EPDM ) roofing; and interior finishes will be gypsum wallboard over interior metal stud framing or ICF. An acoustical ceiling will be installed in most of the building, with some exposed painted ceilings. Floor finishes will include solid vinyl and/or rubber floor tiles, a wood gym floor, epoxy flooring, and ceramic tiles. Only Firms Submitting Timely and Responsive Expressions of Interest Will Be Considered for Prequalification to Receive the Request for Proposal. The Evaluation Committee Will Evaluate the Submitted Statements of Qualifications and Determine the Most Qualified Person(S) or Firm(S) to Be Prequalified to Step 2 the RFP Phase.
