The Project includes the following Work: The Project generally consists of the construction of a new pedestrian and bicyclist bridge that crosses Cobun Creek near the reservoir in White Park connecting the Mississippi Street side trails to the new South Side Trails. The proposed pedestrian bridge is a two span (85.5'/85.5') simply supported glued laminated (glulam) girder structure with glulam floor beams and timber stringers supporting a composite deck. Bid security in the form a Certified Check or Bid Bond shall be furnished with the bid in an amount not less than 5%. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be sent in writing to Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Telephone inquiries are unacceptable. Construction time limit is 150 calendar days for substantial completion and 30 calendar days immediately thereafter for final acceptance. Liquidated damages for Substantial Completion time is $1,000.00 per day and $1,000.00 per day for final acceptance. Statutory Requirements. Bidders must comply with all State antibid-rigging regulations pertaining to Work associated with this Project, and will be required to submit an executed non-collusion affidavit with the bid. All bids shall be irrevocable for 60 days after the bid opening date. All bidders must hold a current West Virginia contractors license or be eligible to acquire one on the date of the Bid Opening. The City of Morgantown reserves the right to waive any defects, errors, omissions, mistakes, informalities, to accept any bid or combination of bids that are deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Morgantown, and to reject any or all proposals.
