Proposals are being sought includes providing all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and construction methods for (base bid area plus alternate bid area) the installation of approximately 3,895 FT of 8aEUR PVC C900 directionally drilled water main and 675 FT of 8aEUR PVC C900 open-cut water main, 397 FT of 8aEUR to 18aEUR storm sewer removal and replacement, associated pavement patching, turf restoration, and other items at two (2) locations in the Village of Palatine: Center Road from Quentin Road to Westwood Lane (Base Bid Area) and Hillcrest Road and Suthers Lane from Quentin Road to Woodland Road (Alternate Bid Area), and associated work items, as shown on the plans and included in the proposal and agreement. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, cashieraEUR(TM)s check, or bank draft in an amount equal to five percent of the bid, payable to the Village of Palatine, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute a contract and furnish a contract bond as set forth in the Project Documents. In case the bidder fails to file such contract and bond, the amount of the check or bid security shall be forfeited to the Village of Palatine as liquidated damages. The Village of Palatine reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in bidding, and to accept any proposal which the Village Council deems most favorable to the interests of the Village.
