Site work for a civil project in Lynchburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Summary: Paint removal and recoating of two open top water tanks at the City of Lynchburg College Hill Water Treatment Plant. Tank 1 is 1.7 million gallons and will be painted inside and outside. Tank 2 is 4.0 million gallons and will be painted inside and outside. Minor structural repairs and patching will be included. Question Deadline 02/12/2025 at 2:00 PM ET All requests for clarification of or questions regarding this Advertisement for Bids or for additional information must be made in writing to Will Ruberry, william.ruberry@lynchburgva.gov Work hours are during daylight hours (sunrise to sunset) Monday through Friday, the Contractor can petition the Owner for Saturday work. Work is not permitted on Sundays or Holidays. The Coag Tank 1 may be out-of-service for a maximum of 60 days. The Coag Tank 2 may be out-of-service for a maximum of 90 days. The Backwash Tank Piping work is to be performed in a maximum of 7 days. The Mill Lane Reservoir work is to be performed in a maximum of 5 days. Only one tank can be removed from service at a time. The Backwash Tank Piping and the Mill Lane Reservoir will remain in service during the work and can be performed at the same time as any of the other structures. Liquidated damages are applicable and begin after 60 days (Coag 1), 90 days (Coag 2), 7 days (Backwash Tank Piping) out-of-service (note that the backwash tank and the Mill Lane Reservoir will remain in service throughout the project, the backwash piping is empty except for 10 minutes every day when filters are backwashed) or after Substantial Completion date whichever is the earlier date. Liquidated damages at $1,250/calendar day is to apply after this date. Ready for Final Payment Date is to be thirty (30) days after date Substantial Completion Date based on out-of-service days or scheduled Substantial Completion, or as adjusted by Change Order, or actual Substantial Completion if earlier. Liquidated damages after Ready for Final Payment Date of $250/day is to apply. Liquidated damages are cumulative if damages from Substantial Completion and Ready for Final Payment overlap. In addition, Special Damages, fines, or Set-Off may also apply per Bid/Agreement Form. Tank Information: Coag 1: The structure is a 1,700,000-gallon structure with an estimated diameter of 67 ft. and an estimated sidewall height of 67 ft. with no roof located at 525 Taylor St. in Lynchburg, Virginia. Coag 2: The structure is a 4,000,000-gallon structure with an estimated diameter of 97 ft. and an estimated sidewall height of 80 ft. with no roof located at 525 Taylor St. in Lynchburg, Virginia. Backwash Tank Piping: The piping is located outside the structure at ground level located at 525 Taylor St. in Lynchburg, Virginia. Mill Lane Reservoir: The structure is a 5,000,000-gallon reservoir with a steel roof that has an estimated diameter of 208 ft. and an estimated sidewall height of 21 ft. with no roof located at 116 Mill Lane Rd. in Lynchburg, Virginia. The work includes: Coag 1: Exterior: High pressure water clean (5,000 to 10,000 psi) and spot power tool clean to a SSPC-SP11 standard. Apply a three (3) coat epoxy urethane system. Work includes all steel above the high-water level, including the interior sidewall, catwalk, etc. Wet Interior: Abrasive blast clean the entire wet interior to a SSPC-SP10 near-white metal standard within containment. Apply a three (3) coat zinc epoxy system. The cathodic protection system is to be removed and reinstalled by the Owner's vendor (or approved equal), coordination and payment is the Contractor's responsibility. Foundation: Repair cracks. Repair spalls. Water clean and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Repairs: 1) Install a fall prevention device on the wet interior ladder. Coag 2: Exterior: High pressure water clean (5,000 to 10,000 psi) and spot power tool clean to a SSPC-SP11 standard. Apply a three (3) coat epoxy urethane system. Work includes all steel above the high-water level, including the interior sidewall, catwalk, etc.
