The District is soliciting bids for CCS Project No. 25034 - Roof Replacements at WCBE. Public Purchase is being used to collect the bid. Any written addendum will be sent to all plan holders. A bid guaranty and contract bond meeting the requirements of Section 153.571 of the Ohio Revised Code must accompany each bid. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. DOMESTIC STEEL USE REQUIREMENTS AS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 153.011 OF THE REVISED CODE APPLY TO THIS PROJECT. COPIES OF SECTION 153.011 OF THE REVISED CODE CAN BE OBTAINED FROM ANY OF THE OFFICES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES. Columbus City Schools has established an Outreach Program to increase participation of businesses designated as Local Economically Disadvantaged Enterprises (LEDE). The Board of Education (BOE) has established an aspirational goal of 20% participation by business designated as LEDE. Vendors are strongly encouraged to use a good faith effort to support the BOE in achieving the Districts LEDE participation goals. Additional information can be obtained by reviewing the BOE Community Inclusion Policy 6400 or by contacting the Outreach Department at outreachservices@columbus.k12.oh.us Contract Completion is August 5,2025. WBE (6.9%) Remove the existing roof and flashing material down to the top surface of the wood deck. The existing gutter, scupper and downs puts are to be re-used. Install new down spout hanging brackets at 36" on center per NRCA and SMACNA guidelines. B. Provide a line item price on the bid form to replace any damaged decking and polystyrene found during the old roofremoval. The existing roof construction was found to be a single ply membrane, 'A" plywood, 5" polystyrene and 'A" plywood. The contractor shall include 96 square feet of plywood and 5" insulation replacement as part of their base bid. Any damaged insulation or plywood replacement shall be re-adhered using cold process insulation adhesive in 4" wide ribbons. Any gaps between the new and old insulation will be sealed with spray foam insulation to prevent any thermal gaps. C. Mechanically fasten a layer of 1.5" polyisocyanurate insulation to the properly prepared wood deck substrate. D. The fastening pattern to be used for bidding purses shall be 22 fasteners in a 8' x 8' comer zone, 17 in the 8' perimeter zone and 11 in the roof field. The insulation adhesive bead spacing shall be 4" on center in a 8' x 8' comer zone, 6" in a 8' perimeter zone and 12" in the rooffield. 4' x 4', %: 12" tapered sumps will be installed around each roof drains and at the base of each scupper. Install 1/2:12" tapered saddles between each roof drain/scupper per NRCA guidelines and adhered in cold process insulation adhsive. E. Add new wood nailer at the gutter and drip edge edge over top ofthe existing nailer. Attach the new nailer per Division 6 ofthe attached specifications. F. Install a fully adhered 60 mill epdm field and flashing membrane over the properly prepared insulation substrate. G. Install new R mer Force edge metal over top ofthe existing edge metal system at all perimeter edge locations where appropriate. H. Install new metal counter flashing around all roof penetrations and at all roof to wall transitions. I. Install new OMG retrofit drain inserts at each drain location and flash per NRCA and Garland warranty requirements. J. Clean out the existing gutter system and reseal all end caps, drops and seams with new joint sealant tooled to a neat, water shedding finish. K. Install new leaf guards over the gutters and over the scupper boxes. L. Remove the joint sealant in one wall control joints, install new backer rod and wall control joint sealant per Section 07 90 12. M. Install two coats of Seal a Pour WB over the exposed masonry wall between the West facing roof level ONLY. N. Install an additional ply of epdm membrane under any pipe supports. O. Wire bmsh, prime and paint the two msted roof vents on the West side ofthe roof. P. Clean up all debris and damage done to grounds, building and rooftop (if any). Deadline for RFIs is Friday, January 31, 2025 at 10:00am. LEDE Participation Goal is 20% and Workforce Participation Goal is 25%
