This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. The City of Gaithersburg is redeveloping a 2.99-acre site located at 415 Decoverly Drive, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20878, into a public park. This site was previously owned by the England-Crown family and was home to structures from the mid-19th century through the late 20th century. Once a bustling working farm with livestock and crop production, a May 29, 2011 fire destroyed many of the original structures on the site. The remaining structures are a Corn Crib Barn that was restored by the City in 2022 and two silos located at the southeast corner of the site. The City is seeking portfolios from playground structure manufacturers to submit playground equipment based on the site's history that shall meet the City requirements specified in this RFI. The City may utilize this information in developing the Crown Farm Park design and construction documents. The intent of this RFI is to obtain more information and explore available playground equipment suitable for the new park theme.
