The project includes all labor, materials and equipment necessary to for the Plainview Road and Sterling Drive PCC Panel Replacement project. The work will include pavement removal, excavation, subgrade preparation, aggregate base, paving, traffic control, surface restoration, and other related work. PROJECT LOCATION: The project is located along Plainview Road and Sterling Drive in Walcott, Iowa. Work for phase 1 shall begin after March 10th, 2025 (weather dependent). Phase 1 construction is broken down into Phase 1A and 1B per the plans. All of phase 1 shall be completed within 45 days of commencement of construction for that phase and shall be completed no later than June 6, 2025. Phase 2 start date will be after July 14, 2025. Phase 2 construction is broken down per phase 2A and 2B per the plans. Work shall be completed within 45 days of the commencement of construction and no later than October 1 st , 2025. Liquidated damages in the amount of $500 per calendar day shall be charged beginning 46 days after the start date for each phase for failure to meet substantial completion with liquidated damages charged each day thereafter until completed. Bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid. Equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council, and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all materials and labor, and also protect and save harmless the City from all claims and damages of any kind caused directly or indirectly by the operation of the contract, and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement for a period of four (4) years from and after its completion and formal acceptance by the City.
