Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Melbourne, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Melbourne Southwest Trail The scope of work includes installation of a sidewalk and trail project which proposes approximately 0.5 miles of trail along a drainage canal from Florida Avenue to University Boulevard; and 1.34 miles of sidewalk along Dairy Road, Florida Avenue and University Boulevard. The project proposes the following sidewalk and trail improvements: - Removal of existing 5 foot wide concrete sidewalk along the east side of Dairy Road from Eber Boulevard to Florida Avenue and installation of 8 foot wide concrete sidewalks within the same limits. - Installation of new 6 foot wide concrete sidewalk along the north side of Florida Avenue, from the Southwest Canal to Fan Palm Boulevard. - Installation of a new 6 foot wide concrete sidewalk along the north side of University Boulevard from Carlson Circle to Leonard Weaver Boulevard. - Removal of the existing sidewalk along the north side of University Boulevard from Leonard Weaver Boulevard to Lipscomb Street and installation of a 8 foot wide concrete sidewalk within the same limits. - Installation of a 10 foot wide asphalt trail along the east side of the existing drainage canal from Florida Avenue to University Boulevard. The project also includes associated drainage improvements, including an end wall with pipe extension at the Leonard Weaver canal, guardrail removal and drainage pipe connections. Also included are signing and pavement markings as well as Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) to be installed on Florida Avenue, between Purdue Street and Mazur Drive; and at Florida Avenue at Meadowridge Drive .Intersection improvements at Dairy Road and Eber Boulevard, and at Dairy Road and Florida Avenue include milling and resurfacing within the intersection, reconstruction of ADA ramps at all corners, type F curb & gutter, pavement markings, traffic loop replacements and pedestrian signal work Three bus stops for Space Coase Area Transit (SCAT) are proposed to be upgraded along Florida Avenue: at Forest Creek Drive, Purdue Street and Rachel Street which include a sidewalk connection and concrete boarding pad. One bus stop upgrade is proposed to be along University Boulevard at Briarwood Boulevard to include the same as above. Other construction elements include mobilization, maintenance of traffic, erosion control, clearing and grubbing, regular excavation and embankment, and sod. All pedestrian facilities shall adhere to current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Utility coordination will be required during construction and utility work schedules have been developed. The Agency has received a permit exemption from the St. John River Water Management District. The City shall construct the project within the limits of the existing right of or easements Pre-Construction Meeting May 7, 2025 Bids must be accompanied by a cashier's check, bid bond or negotiable in an amount not less than five percent of the bid. Bid bonds shall be countersigned by an agent having an established place of business in the State of Florida. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 55 days after scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. Bidders must include one original and one copy of their submitted bid Question Deadline 02/13/2025 The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
