Question Deadline 04/02/2025 at 5:00 PM CT This project consists of site improvements for the proposed Public Safety Training Facility and is designed to accommodate tractor trailers and fire engines. The structure will be fabricated and assembled by the manufacturer, Forge Fire & Company. The City of Madison Public Works Department will perform site demolition, excavation, subgrade compaction, and utility improvements/relocations. Contractor’s work to include installing concrete pavement, base materials, and the building foundation. The project must be completed within 60 calendar days from the date of the notice to proceed. Each Bidder shall inform itself of, and the Bidder awarded the Contract shall comply with, federal, state, and local laws, statutes, and ordinances relative to the execution of the Work. This requirement includes, but is not limited to, applicable regulations concerning minimum wage rates, the use of domestic products, U.S. steel and resident labor, non-discrimination in the employment of labor, protection of public and employee safety and health, environmental protection, the protection of natural resources, fire protection, burning and non-burning requirements, permits, fees, and similar subjects. Certain statutory requirements are summarized herein. Each Bidder must submit with its Bid a cashier’s check drawn on an Alabama bank and made payable to the City of Madison or a fully executed bid bond prepared on the form that is contained in the bid packet, executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make bond in the State of Alabama. All bonds and/or cashier’s checks must be made payable to the City of Madison, Alabama, a municipal corporation, for an amount not less than five (5) percent of the total amount of the Bid, but in no event more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) Such Bond shall carry a penalty equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price. The City reserves the right to reject any Bid that is submitted by a Bidder determined by the City to not be a responsible Bidder or whose Bid is not responsive.
