As of April 10, 2025, project was awarded to U.S. Utility Contractor, awarded amount is $165,653.40.The scope of work includes: Sediment removal and reshaping of the sides of the ditch to a 2 to 1 slope. Work also includes the removal of some woody debris that has accumulated in about 5 places closer to the northerly end of the active area of the ditch. The location of the project is Cole Ditch from the culvert under West Road south of SR303 where the existing Cole Ditch on maintenance stopped, running in a northeasterly direction under SR303 through a residential lot and farm field. Length is approximately 2,400 ft. The Engineer's estimate of construction cost is $219,842.50. Question Deadline Feb 13, 2025 The County intends and requiresthe work to be completed within ninety days from Notice to Proceed. The specifications of the Ohio Department of Transportation shall govern all work, materials, and equipment. All work shall be performed under the administration of the Lorain County Engineer. All contractors involved with this project shall, to the extent practical, use Ohio products, materials, services and labor in implementation of this project. Additionally, contractors shall comply with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123. All contractors and subcontractors shall use only the classifications and wage rates set forth in the United States Department of Labor (USDOL) wage decision. Bidders shall direct, in writing, any request for interpretation, correction or modification of the specifications to the Lorain County Purchasing Department, 226 Middle Ave, Elyria, Ohio 44035 or e-mailing Jessica Burns at jburns@loraincounty.us, and must be received at least four (4) working days prior to the date of bid opening.
