Medina County Sanitary Engineers are issuing a request for Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) from an Engineering firm to conduct BioWin modeling on the Aeration Tanks at the Hinckley Wastewater Treatment Plant for biological nutrient removal. Hinckley WWTP currently uses two (2) aeration basins for initial nitrification and twelve (12) Rotating Biological Contactors (RBCs) post-clarification for additional nitrogen removal. There is a third aeration basin available that is seldom used due to its configuration. The third basin was an aerobic digester that was retrofitted in 1996. It is divided by an internal wall with sluice gates and cut outs, making an even distribution of solids difficult to attain.
