A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Scope of Work: The Sylacauga Street Resurfacing 2024-2025 project consists of the installation of a bituminous wearing surface overlay (140 - 165 pounds per square yard) on approximately 46 various City street locations (134,722 square yards) totaling approximately 11,250 tons. Project also includes select milling (approximately 82,500 square yards), select patching (approximately 2,750 tons), typical full road patching (1,600 tons) and select leveling (approximately 1,500 tons) of existing pavement as directed by the Engineer, adjustment of underground utility riser tops, installation of traffic striping, markings/legends, pavement markers, and associated traffic control/erosion control. The entire project shall be completed in 90 working days. There will NOT be a Pre-Bid meeting for this project. Engineer's Bracket Estimate: $2,750,000.00 - 2,950,000.00. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to City of Sylacauga in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal along with Non-Collusion Affidavit. A One Hundred Percent (100 %) Performance Bond and a One Hundred Percent (100 %) Payment Bond and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. All general contractor bidders must be pre-qualified pursuant to pre-qualification procedures and criteria established by the Owner prior to picking up bid documents. Written pre-qualification procedures and criteria are available for review at the office of EEFS Company, PC. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Engineer; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. All bidders must have a current Alabama General Contractor's License with Highways & Streets (HS) Classification or be ALDOT Certified. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
