As of March 2025 this project has been abandoned, It is unclear if or when it will move forward. Subject to conditions prescribed by the undersigned, subcontractors are invited to prequalify for the following bid package for the Hillcrest Phase 2 Multipurpose Clinical Research Building project: Bid Package 03300 Concrete and Reinforcing Steel Estimated construction cost $4,400,000 C-8 License DPR Construction is the CM/Contractor for this UC San Diego project and selected through a previous recruitment. DPR Construction is intending to prequalify and bid on this package. The successful Subcontractor Bidder shall sign a Subcontract Agreement directly with DPR Construction and shall be bound by all the terms of the contract between the Owner and CM/Contractor. Subcontractors will be required to be properly licensed by the State of California Contractors State License Board with appropriate license for the specified work. Entities to complete and submit a Prequalification Questionnaire and other information referenced below, for purpose of prequalifying to submit a bid for the construction of specific trades for the referenced project. Project Information -The Multipurpose Clinical Research Building is an approximately 135,000 SF new construction of a 5 story multi-tenant building at the Hillcrest Medical Center for UC San Diego Health System. Tenant spaces include Childcare, Retail/Dining, Clinical Research and Office. The Project site is located at the intersection of First Ave and Arbor Drive. Project duration is estimated to be 22 months, commencing in August 2025 and concluding in June 2027. The estimated construction cost of the project is $116,000,000.00 The Concrete and Reinforcing Steel package consists of providing all labor services, supervision, installation, layout, engineering, hoisting, parking, shop drawings, submittals, mock ups, bench marks, fabrication, supplies, tools, material, equipment, tools, facilities, transportation, storage, protection, handling, licenses, inspection, tax payments (federal, state, local, etc.), insurance, etc. as required to timely complete the work. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. In addition, the University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) relating to all goods and services covered under the awarded agreement, subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. Potential bidders will be required to submit their small business outreach plan to the University as part of the prequalification process. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
