Summary: The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is soliciting bids to repair and stabilize the Reflections Lake Viewing Tower located at the Palmer Hay Flats State Game Refuge. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is soliciting bids for repairs to the foundation of the Reflections Lake Viewing Tower located in Palmer Hay Flats State Game Refuge following engineering plan provided. The 30ft tall open-frame steel structure has sustained damage to the helical pile foundation, developed a tilt, and needs to be leveled. The wildlife viewing tower is a prominent feature of a popular hiking trail and structural repairs are needed to extend its service life for public use and enjoyment. Work shall include but not be limited to installation of temporary load bearing supports, leveling the building, structural steel welding, and foundation repairs. The tower is situated in a wetland within a legislatively designated special area important to wildlife, therefore most work will need to be performed when the ground is frozen to prevent damage to soil and vegetation.
