The Onslow Water and Sewer Authority requests proposals for the completion of a softener tank rehabilitation at our Dixon Water Treatment Plant. The successful proposer shall furnish all permits, materials, equipment, and labor necessary to perform all tasks described in the Scope of Work, including: removing and disposing of existing media; performing a visual inspection of the tank and repairing defective areas (including spot and patch welding) as needed; preparing and painting interior and exterior surfaces; pressure testing; replacement of brine inlet valve and electronic actuator; and, installing new gravel and media in a total of one (1) steel tank softener vessel. Work will be performed at ONWASA's Dixon Water Treatment Plant, 6661 Wilmington Hwy, Holly Ridge, NC 28445. Work is to begin within seven (7) calendar days from the receipt of a Notice to Proceed, and all work on the project shall be completed and the tank ready for service within 30 calendar days from that date. Contractors submitting a proposal are hereby notified that NC General Statutes relating to the licensing of contractors will be observed in receiving proposals and awarding of a contract. Performance and Payment Bonds are required for this Project. The use of subcontractors is not permitted on this project. ONWASA reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive informalities, and to accept any proposal which, in the opinion of ONWASA, appears to be in its best interest. The right is reserved to hold any or all proposals for ninety (90) days from the opening thereof. Any questions regarding the RFP or proposed contract must be submitted in writing, at least, five (5) business days prior to the submittal date for the proposal and directed to the ONWASA Purchasing Agent.
