All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid deposit by a cashier's or certified check or Bid Bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract and furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid deposit or bond shall be forfeited to Valley Water District. This Contract provides for water main improvements within Valley Water District. The project is located within WSDOT right-of-way. Work will consist of furnishing and installing approximately 445 linear feet of 8-Inch ductile iron water main and 385 linear feet of 2-inch polyethylene pipe and all associated water system materials including water main, fittings, valves, fire hydrants, and water service materials, as well as traffic control and surface restoration, and material testing. The District encourages minority and women-owned firms to submit bids consistent with the District's policy to ensure that such firms are afforded the maximum practicable opportunity to compete for and obtain public contracts. The Contractor will be required to comply with all local, State, and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to equal employment opportunities. Valley Water District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive any informalities or minor irregularities in the bidding, and determine which bid or bidder meets the criteria set forth in the bid documents. No bidder may withdraw a bid after the hour set for the opening thereof unless the award is delayed for a period exceeding ninety (90) days.
