Reference Number 0000286743 Application of Magnesium Chloride or Calcium Chloride dust control product. Prodcut must be Magnesium Chloride Liquid or Calcium Chloride Liquid with a 30% to 35% Brine Solution and an Anti-Corrosive Inhibitor to meet Corrosive Rate of less than 4.0 mils per ASTM G 4-84. Bidders may provide a quote for one or both. The product shall be available for delivery to various locations in the Municipality from June 1, 2025 to October 31, 2025, as required by the Municipality SECTION I-SPECIFICATIONS: Product must be Magnesium Chloride Liquid or Calcium Chloride Liquid with a 30% to 35% Brine Solution and an Anti-Corrosive Inhibitor to meet Corrosion Rate of less than 4.0 mils per ASTM G 4-84. Bidders may provide a quote for one or both products. Application must be in accordance with recommended manufacturer's specifications or as directed by the Director of Operations or their designate. The material must be delivered in tanks that are in good condition without any sign of corrosion or contaminates. Product delivered in a tank in which corrosion or contaminates appears to be a problem will be rejected. The application equipment must be in good working order. The spreader equipment must be capable of spreading the dust control agent over a minimum width of 8 feet and preferably a varying width up to 16 feet. All controls for starting and stopping the flow of material must be in good working order and located inside the cab of the truck. There must also be a control valve located at the back of the unit to prevent any loss of material. The Municipality reserves the right to inspect the equipment of the successful Contractor to determine if it can properly perform the application. If the equipment is unsuitable, the Municipality reserves the right to cancel the order and obtain the product elsewhere. In the event of equipment failure, an acceptable back-up unit must be available. If no back-up is available the Municipality reserves the right to cancel the order and obtain the product elsewhere. Material shall be available with 24 hours' notice, except where otherwise agreed upon by both parties at time of order. Cancellation of the order, due to weather conditions, may be made at any time prior to application. Cancellation of any order shall be at no cost to the Municipality. The Municipality shall be the sole authority as to whether or not weather conditions are acceptable for application. In any instance where the Company is not capable of delivering product when requested or the product is inferior, the Municipality shall consider these sufficient grounds for terminating the agreement. Termination of the agreement shall be at the discretion of the Rural Municipality of Gimli. The product shall be available for delivery to various locations in the Municipality from June 1, 2025 to October 31, 2025, as required by the Municipality. The expected volume of product that will be required is 500,000 litres. The quantity listed is the best estimate but could vary significantly depending on the approved budget, tender quotation and weather conditions. Testing: The successful bidder is to provide product strength test results to the Municipality from an independent test lab at the Contractors expense prior to application. The product being supplied by the successful bidder may also be subject to random sampling by the Municipality and tested for content at an independent test lab as designated by the Municipality at the Contractors expense. Goods which fail to meet the requirements of the specifications shall be replaced by the Contractor at no cost to the Municipality. Proper MSDS with product specification sheet and concentration test results shall be produced at a pre-start meeting. All work shall be performed in compliance with the applicable Workplace Safety and Health, Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Rules, Regulations and By-Laws.
