Renovation of a municipal facility in Romney, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The Hampshire County Commission is accepting sealed bids for the Hampshire County Courthouse Electrical System Upgrade Project. This project involves the modernization and upgrade of the courthouse's electrical systems to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with current standards. The project will be implemented in two phases, with Phase 1 to be funded and The project entails converting the existing single-phase electrical service to a modern three-phase system, replacing outdated electrical panels, subpanels, cabling, and circuit breakers, and installing a new main service entry disconnect. Additionally, this phase will address branch circuit modifications, lighting replacements, and safety system upgrades as outlined in the project specifications. The Hampshire County Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts thereof. All contractors and subcontractors must comply with applicable state and federal regulations and hold appropriate licensure for the work. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Phase 1 (2025) 1. Conversion from Single-Phase to Three-Phase Power o Replace two existing 120/240V, single-phase services with a single 600A, threephase service. o Install a new Square D (Schneider Electric) 600A, three-phase main disconnect switch with surge suppression. 2. Electrical Panel and Subpanel Upgrades o Replace 10 outdated subpanels with modern Square D NQOD panelboards (100A - 600A, three-phase). o Install new circuit breakers (Square D QO series, 15A to 100A). 3. Cabling and Branch Circuit Modifications o Replace all cabling with THHN/THWN-2 copper conductors rated for 600V. o Upgrade branch circuits for increased reliability and code compliance. 4. Receptacles and Switches o Replace outdated receptacles and switches with commercial-grade Leviton Decora models (20A, tamper-resistant). Phase 2 (2026) 1. Elevator Disconnect Installation o Install a dedicated Eaton heavy-duty safety switch (600V, 100A, 3-pole) for the elevator system. 2. Lighting System Replacement o Replace all existing fluorescent and incandescent fixtures with energy-efficient Lithonia Lighting LED fixtures (4,000K color temperature). o Install modern dimming and lighting control systems. 3. Final Electrical Panel Upgrades o Complete replacement of any remaining obsolete panels and subpanels. o Phase 1 (2025): Main electrical service upgrade, panel replacements, and cabling work. o Phase 2 (2026): Lighting replacement, elevator disconnect installation, and final panel upgrades.
