Reference Number 0000286913 Sealed proposals must be comprised of one copy of this entire document with the Rural Municipality of Cartier Supply, Haul, and Spread of Class A Traffic Gravel - Invitation to Tender and Agreement, located on pages 6 and 7 herein completed as required. Use only this document and the attached forms for the submission of tenders. Use of any other format will not be accepted and will result in your proposal being rejected. Prices quoted shall be F.O.B. the Rural Municipality of Cartier. Please reference the Terms, Conditions, and Specifications for locations to estimate tonnage. Include all applicable federal and provincial taxes. Material Specifications a) The processed gravel will be well graded and will not vary from the specified maximum to minimum range for consecutive sieve sizes (marginal material will not be accepted). The gradation and physical requirements will be as follows: Class A Traffic Gravel Passing Standard Sieves b) 12.50 mm 100% 4.75 mm 70-90% 425 µm 45-70% 75 µm 10-35% Minimum crush count (single fracture) 35% Los Angeles abrasion loss 45% 8% Moisture Content Level The Municipality will, at the time of hauling, randomly test the material to determine maximum dry density and optimum moisture level of the material. Typically, the optimum moisture content of base, sub-base, and traffic gravel is in the range of 6% to 8%. In this respect, the Municipality intends to accept materials with moisture content at the lower end of the scale range (6%). Material found to be above the maximum moisture content will be rejected.
