TOWN / DISTRICT: The Town of Greenwich is approximately 30 miles northeast of New York City and has a population of about 60,000 residents. The Greenwich Public Schools enjoy a national reputation for excellence and have strong support from the community. The fifteen public schools have an enrollment of 9,000 students and consists of eleven elementary schools (K5), three middle schools (6-8), and one comprehensive high school (9-12). All questions must be submitted no later than 12:00pm, February 14th, 2025. Questions concerning this bid will be received by email only and directed to: bid_department@greenwich.k12.ct.us. Each bid shall be signed and accompanied by a bid security payable to the Town of Greenwich in the amount of ten (10%) of the bid and shall be in the form of a Bid Bond only as issued in the bid documents. Bid Bonds must use the Greenwich Public Schools Bid Bond Form (included within the bid documents), issued by a surety company listed on the current U.S. Dept of Treasury's Federal Register and be licensed to underwrite bonds in the State of Connecticut. REJECTION: after review of all sectors, terms, and conditions, including price, Greenwich Public Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or any part thereof, or waive defects in same. SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION: Contractor shall complete all work within the building and on the project site such that the property and building are occupiable by the owner for all purposes, contractor shall complete all system testing and testing record documentation, and all systems shall be inspected and approved by the authority having jurisdiction on or before August 22nd, 2025 FINAL COMPLETION: Contractor shall complete all work associated with the project including but not limited to incomplete items identified on the punch list, closeout documentation, project record documents, operation and maintenance manuals on or before December 31st, 2025 OPTION TO EXTEND: All work associated with the project shall be completed on or before December 31st, 2025. The Board of Education may, at their option and with the approval of the vendor, extend the period of the Contract to June 30th, 2026. If the Board of Education intends to extend the contract period, the vendor shall be notified in writing by the purchasing department at least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the expiration of the original contract. AWARD OF CONTRACT: The contract will be awarded by the Board of Education to a qualified firm or person at compensation determined to be fair and reasonable considering budgetary limitations, scope, complexity, and the nature of goods and/or services.
