Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Hope, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

Summary details: To replace 3 structures on FSR's. CK-2152A (Jones Lake FSR) is located at approximately 4.0km on the FSR and accesses rural residences and high value recreation sites. CK-2358 (Lost Creek FSR) is located at approximately 3.0km on the FSR and is used to access rural residences and high value recreation sites. CK-2166 (Lost Creek FSR) is located at approximately 5.0km on the FSR and is used to access rural residences and high value recreation sites. The Chilliwack Forest District surrounds British Columbia's largest population of approximately 2.7 million people and it is comprised of over 2000 km of Forest Service Roads (FSR's).The FSR road network provides industrial road use and public access to the many recreational opportunities which include provincial and regional parks, recreation sites and trails and sites of interest. FSRs also provide access to communities and rural residences. First Nations use the FSRs as the primary access to their traditional territories for cultural and spiritual purposes and gathering of traditional medicines and food. Without maintenance, the FSRs over time will suffer new or continual degradation, resulting in risks to public safety and the environment. Scope The scope of work involves the removal of three structures and replacing them with Ministry supplied bridges and related works as per the applicable General Arrangement Design drawings and these specifications. There is also a single bridge that requires concrete repairs to the deck ends. The three replacement bridges are currently stored at the Chilliwack Natural Resource office located at 46360 Airport Road, Chilliwack BC; the contractor is responsible for providing the equipment required to load out all materials from the office location. No tracked equipment is permitted to operate in the yard; therefore, a crane is required for loading the materials. Due to the proximity to the Chilliwack airport, there is a height restriction while working on the property, see attachment (1 EN25LMN308 Height Restriction & Bridge Storage for DCK Yard) for further details on the height restriction and the bridge storage.
