Coordinate the timing oftheir construction activities with WGFD representative lohn Henningsen so as not to conflict with neighboring livestock operations. WGFD will: Remove and dispose of all existing wire, braces, and wood line posts. At their discretion, remove steel line posts that are in less than excellent condition. Provide all new materials and deliver to Mule Creek Ranch WHMA. Materials will be stored at the corrals off Mule Creek Road (42.23964, -105.83744). Furnished materials: T- posts & clips Treated wooden posts and rails for brace construction Staples Lag screws/ring shank nails Twitch sticks Wire - Barbed & Smooth 12.5 gauge Stays for gates Wire heights & spacing: All new fence construction shall follow the WGFD construction specification to four-wire wildlife/livestock fence (attached). Wire heights from the ground: the 1st strand (smooth) will be at least 18'' up, 2nd strand (barbed) will be 22" from the ground, 3rd strand (barbed) will be 28" from the ground, and 4th strand (barbed) will be 40" from the ground. Wire spacing may be adjusted as needed; however, the spacing between the top wire and the second wire shall be no less than 12". The space between the ground and the bottom wire shall be no less than 16". Wire shall be firmly attached to T-posts using Box-T wire clips. Rock fence anchors shall be installed when the bottom wire is more than 6" above the design heights from the ground. Rock anchors shall utilize rocks large enough to hold down wire in drainages or depressions, and tied on with smooth wire. Line Posts and Braces: Line T-post spacing shall be 16 !4 feet apart. Post spacing may be decreased to as little as 10 feet (never exceed 16 !4 feet) on slopes, hillsides, draws, or when required post depth is unobtainable due to obstructions. T-posts shall be driven into the ground until the top ofthe anchor plate is below ground surface. All existing T-posts that are still in excellent conditions and properly located may be re-used. Tension wires on horizontal braces shall be attached diagonally from approximately 4 inches above the horizontal brace on the brace post, to just above ground level on anchor post. The tension wires shall be twisted together until the brace assembly is rigid. Gates: All wire gates shall be built to sixteen (16) feet in width; double braces on each side. Wire gates across roads shall have at least two (2) stays. Gates shall be secured to the end braces with smooth wire. No wood or metal stays will be required on fence lines. Wood stays may be used in the construction of gates. Place all wires following precedent already set if re-using T-posts. If no precedent is set (full line replacement), place wires facing into the WHMA. All work must be completed by December 31, 2026.
