Due to the age and condition of the facility, several major components of the building require improvements and/or replacement. The project is an occupied phased renovation of approximately 64,000 square feet of the existing facility, McCormick Junior High School, creating a new classroom and restroom layouts within the existing building footprint. Work will include selective demolition of walls, casework, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, rooftop units, floor slabs, structural framing, exterior windows, doors, and IT items. New work will include new wall framing and finishes, concrete floor slabs, structural framing and reinforcement. New rooftop mechanical units and structural platforms, roof patching, clerestory framing and windows, solar tubes, lighting, and new electrical systems. Additionally, fire door replacement, fire suppression system, fire alarm, security, and new technology throughout. New casework and finishes, to include new doors and hardware, window replacements in existing and new openings, additional furring of exterior walls for increased insulated properties.
