JOBSITE: Riverside University Health System - Medical Center 26520 Cactus Avenue Moreno Valley, CA 92555 ESTIMATED PROJECT COST: $ 140,000.00 The following licenses are required for this project: (General B: General Building Contractor, C-20: Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating, and Air-Conditioning Contractor, and C-38: Refrigeration Contractor) Contractor shall obtain, maintain, and pay all licenses associated with construction activities, such as business licenses, Contractor's licenses, and vehicle and equipment licenses. To meet the licensing requirements, contractors must list any subcontractors accordingly in the applicable section. Date: Febuary 04, 2025 Time: No later than 1:30 p.m. Must be in the form of an Email The enclosed certified or cashier's check or bid bond on the provided form, made payable to the County in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid, is hereby given as a guarantee that the bidder will execute and deliver the Agreement and required bonds if awarded the contract. In the event that the bidder fails or refuses to execute and deliver said documents, such check or bond is to be charged with the costs of the damages experienced by the County as a result of such failure or refusal. The awarded bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds and insurance documents in accordance with the requirements stated in this RFB. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any discrepancy, technicality or informalities in a bid or in the bidding process, and to make the award in any manner determined by the County to be most advantageous to the County. Any contact with County personnel regarding this procurement, other than the Purchasing Procurement Contract Specialist identified in this RFB, may result in disqualification of your bid. SCOPE OF WORK 1. Project Overview The project entails the replacement of an air handler coil at the Riverside University Health System - Medical Center (RUHS-MC). Due to the critical nature of this equipment, the production of the replacement coil must be expedited. Additionally, the coil will be lifted to the roof using a crane, which will be provided by the awarded vendor. All work must be done in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as any applicable safety standards. 2. Objective o Expedite the production and delivery of the replacement air handler coil. o Coordinate the crane lift to place the coil on the roof. o Ensure minimal disruption to hospital operations during the replacement process. o Maintain full compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. 3. Scope of Work The following tasks will be performed as part of the coil replacement: A. Preparation & Planning 1. Site Survey & Assessment: o Conduct an initial site survey to assess the installation location, crane access, and space restrictions. o Review current conditions and identify any potential obstacles to the lift or installation. 2. Design & Coil Specifications: o Confirm the coil specifications with the RUHS Plant Operations team, ensuring the replacement meets the air handler system's requirements. o Expedite coil production to meet project timeline, ensuring it complies with all technical specifications.1. Crane Provision: o The awarded vendor shall be responsible for providing and coordinating all crane services. o Vendor must provide a certified crane operator with appropriate lifting equipment. o The crane will be used to lift and place the air handler coil onto the roof as per the planned lifting procedure. o All necessary permits for crane operations must be obtained by the vendor. 2. Crane Operations Planning: o The vendor must submit a lift plan detailing the crane model, lifting process, and safety measures. o Vendor must ensure that appropriate traffic control and safety measures are in place for crane operations, including personnel, signage, and barriers. C. Removal of Old Coil 1. Decommissioning of Existing Coil: o Safely disconnect, remove, and dispose of the existing air handler coil. o Ensure proper handling and disposal of the old coil and any related components. 2. Safety Procedures: o Follow all OSHA, local, state, and hospital-specific safety protocols during the coil removal. o Ensure that all areas are secured and safe during the decommissioning process to protect hospital staff and patients. D. Installation of New Coil 1. Placement & Installation: o The new air handler coil will be lifted via crane and placed onto the roof at the designated location. o Install the new coil in accordance with manufacturer specifications and engineering drawings. o Ensure proper connection to the air handler system, including any electrical, mechanical, or refrigerant connections, as applicable. 2. Quality Assurance: o Perform initial testing and ensure proper coil operation post-installation. o Verify that the new coil is correctly aligned and installed for efficient air handling and cooling. E. Compliance & Safety 1. Regulatory Compliance: o All activities must comply with local building codes, OSHA regulations, and hospital safety requirements. o Secure all necessary permits for crane operations, construction work, and equipment installation. 2. Workplace Safety: o Ensure that all personnel are trained in safety procedures, including working with heavy equipment and elevated work areas.
