Renovation of an educational facility in Hilo, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The scope of work includes selective demolition: removal and replacement of two (2) air cooled chillers, associated piping, instrumentation and controls; fluid applied roofing system; mechanical sound, vibration and seismic control; mechanical insulation; chilled water piping; central refrigeration equipment; direct digital control system; hvac testing/adjusting/balancing; electrical; wiring systems; interior lighting; and miscellaneous related work. If the Contractor fails to complete the work or any portion of the work within the time or times fixed in the contract or any extension thereof, the Contractor shall pay to the University $ 500.00 per each calendar day of delay. The liquidated damages constitute a reasonable estimate of the actual damages to be incurred by the University and are not meant to be a penalty. Question Deadline 02/26/2025 All clarification requests shall be submitted via online.Requests for substitutions regarding the IFB and its requirements, must be submitted to the Technical Representative of the Procurement Officer (TRPO), Cory Kaizuka via E-mail at kaizuka@hawaii.edu. The estimated construction cost for this project is $250,000.00 or more. The apprenticeship agreement preference pursuant to Chapter 103-55.6, HRS, shall apply to this project. A bidder seeking to claim the preference shall list each apprenticeable trade the bidder will employ to perform the work for this project in the spaces provided below. In addition, the bidder is required to furnish written proof of being a party to a registered apprenticeship agreement by providing the corresponding Certification of Bidder's Participation Form 1 for each trade listed, in accordance with General Provision 3.2. Any Bidder who qualifies for this preference will have its bid reduced by 5% for evaluation purposes. If the contract is awarded, the award would be for the total amount bid without the preference. BID SECURITY In accordance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, this proposal is accompanied with a bid security in the amount of 5% of the total amount proposed. The Bidder shall use the attached Surety Bid Bond form. If the Bidder elects to use other acceptable forms of security listed in Section 2.8 of the General Provisions, the Bidder shall deposit the bid security with the Facilities Business Office prior to the bid due date. The University reserves the right at any time, if additional funds are available, to add additional work to the project scope during construction. The work may include, but is not limited to, new work, repairs, upgrades, and demolition. Any additional work will generally be within the Project limits.
