Desoto County is seeking pricing for repair of a damaged non illuminated pylon sign. to included any needed structural repairs and replacement of the insert logo and wording. Turner Center sign repair and maintenance Scope of Work for Turner Center Sign Repair Summary The purpose of this solicitation is to procure services for the repair and maintenance of the Turner Center sign, which sustained structural damage due to the recent hurricane. This project will involve a thorough assessment of the existing sign structure, necessary repairs to any damaged components, and the replacement of the resigned logo and building name insert. The selected contractor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations while delivering high-quality workmanship that meets the standards set by DeSoto County, FL. Detailed Specifications Site Assessment Conduct a detailed assessment of the sign's structural integrity, identifying all areas requiring repair or maintenance. Provide a comprehensive evaluation report that includes before-and-after photos, descriptions of the repairs needed, and recommendations for future maintenance. Structural Repairs Repair any existing structural damage, including but not limited to: Reinforcement of sign supports or framework. Replacement of damaged panels or structural elements. Repair or replacement of electrical components if applicable (e.g., lighting fixtures). All repairs must comply with Florida Building Code and relevant ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standards. Sign Components Replace resigned logo and building name insert with new materials that are durable and weather-resistant. The new logo and name insert should be designed according to the following specifications: Material: High-density polyethylene (HDPE) or aluminum that meets ASTM standards for weather resistance and durability. Finish: UV-resistant coating to prevent fading. Colors: Match existing color specifications provided in the design guidelines. Dimensions: New inserts must fit securely within the existing sign dimensions. Compliance Standards All work performed must conform to the following standards and regulations: Florida Building Code (FBC) American National Standards Institute (ANSI) related to signs and visual communication. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for sign visibility and accessibility. Local DeSoto County ordinances regarding signage and renovations. Service Requirements Qualifications The contractor must possess a valid contractor's license in the State of Florida. Experience with sign repairs and installations is required; references must be provided. Workforce The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, tools, equipment, and materials required for the completion of the project. All workforce members must comply with applicable safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment. Project Timeline The contractor is required to submit a project timeline, detailing the duration for each phase of the project from assessment through completion. Completion of all services shall not exceed 60 days from the date of contract award, barring unforeseen circumstances. Quality Assurance The contractor is responsible for ensuring that all work performed meets the requirements outlined in this scope of work. A final inspection shall be scheduled between the contractor and DeSoto County representatives to ensure satisfaction with all repairs and replacements. Warranty The contractor shall provide a minimum one-year warranty on all materials and workmanship from the date of project completion. Details of warranty coverage must be included in the proposal. Delivery Requirements Delivery of Materials All materials and components shall be delivered to the Turner Center location at a pre-agreed time in alignment with the project timeline. The contractor is responsible for unloading and securely storing materials on-site while ensuring the work area remains safe and clean. Reporting and Communication The contractor shall maintain regular communication with DeSoto County representatives throughout the duration of the project. Weekly progress reports detailing completed tasks, upcoming work, and any issues encountered must be submitted. Final Documentation Upon project completion, the contractor will provide a final report detailing all work completed, along with the final inspection certificate and warranty documentation. The report should also include before-and-after photos of the sign to illustrate the repairs made. Conclusion By responding to this scope of work, bidders acknowledge their understanding of the requirements and their commitment to executing the Turner Center sign repairs in accordance with DeSoto County standards.
