Renovation of a recreation facility in Oregon City, Oregon. Completed plans call for the renovation of a recreation facility.
The Oregon Zoo operates a condor breeding facility at the Jonsson Center for Wildlife Conservation in Clackamas County, built in 2003. The Jonsson Center Modernization project will update the facility to ensure that the birds and staff stay safe as the impacts of climate change become more severe. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is passing congressionally-allocated funding to Metro and the Oregon Zoo to support conservation of California condors. This federally-funded project aims to increase breeding capacity, limit flooding impacts, improve staff maintenance access, and mitigate for frequent power outages at the Jonsson Center. Metro requires the services of an experienced contractor to construct improvements and perform services to meet all conditions set forth in the Construction Contract, Project Specifications, Construction Drawings, and regulatory permits for the duration of the project.
