Renovation of a library in Hesperia, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
This project consists of purchasing and installing the qualified LED luminaries. Provide all necessary equipment, hardware, adapters, and any other materials necessary for a complete quality installation. Ensure installation quality, compliance with project schedule and proper disposal and/or recycle of old existing fixtures. Contractor shall warrant all labor and replace defective LED luminaries and parts thereof for a period of one (1) year from project completion. The warranty for the luminaries should be no less than five (5) years. Inspect final work and correct any concerns. The contractor shall test and commission all LED lights to ensure that they work as per the performance specifications. Contractor shall replace any materials damaged during installation and provide any materials necessary for proper installation. The estimate of probable cost for this project is $30,000 to $35,000 and the time for completion of the Work shall be sixty (60) calendar days. The work is to be done in accordance with the Contract Documents and Specifications and the Plans on file in the Development Services Department of the City of Hesperia, which are also available online via the PUBLIC|PURCHASE website, and as directed by the Building Official. A MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025 and will be conducted in the Hesperia Branch Library located at 9650 Seventh Avenue, Hesperia, California. BIDDERS MUST SUBMIT, in the form of cash, a cashier's check, a certified check, or a bidder's bond, payable to the City of Hesperia in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the bid, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into the contract if the same is awarded to the successful bidder, and in event of failure to enter into such contract said cash, cashier's check, certified check, or bond shall become the property of the City of Hesperia. If the City of Hesperia awards the contract to the next lowest Bidder, the amount of the lowest Bidder's security shall be applied to the difference between the low bid and the second lowest bid, and the surplus, if any, shall be returned to the lowest Bidder. The three (3) apparent lowest bidders shall submit their original wet-signed bidder's bond, or other form of original bidder's security, to the City either in person or via U.S. Mail within three (3) working days after the date of the online bid opening. Failure of any of these bidders to submit an original of their bidder's security within the stipulated deadline shall be cause for rejection of their bid. The successful Bidder shall be required to post a Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a Payment Bond (Labor and Materials Bond) equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Sureties shall meet all of the State of California bonding requirements in accordance with the Code of Civil Procedure (995.120) and be admitted by the State of California. Except as required by California Public Contract Code 20103.5 - Federal Funded Projects, no bid will be considered from a contractor who is not licensed at the time of bid opening as a Class B: General Building Contractor. The contractor may, upon request and at the sole expense of the contractor, substitute authorized securities in lieu of monies withheld (performance retention) by the City. The successful bidder will be required to enter into a contract satisfactory to the City of Hesperia. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part(s) thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the bid process, and to make a contract award in the best interest of the City. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
