The Village of Whitefish Bay is seeking bids to provide TREE REMOVAL AND PLANTING on Public Rightof-Ways and within select Village Parks. This project is part of an overall initiative the OWNER is undertaking to increase urban forest canopy, reduce the public ash tree component in tree terrace areas, and replace those previously removed ash with a greater diversity of tree species. All Contractors shall comply with the "Contractor Qualification Ordinance of the Village of Whitefish Bay" requiring pre-qualification of Contractors prior to submitting bids or to act as a Contractor or Subcontractor on any public improvement project. Qualification forms will be included in the bid documents and must be submitted to Clark Dietz or the Village no later than 72 hours prior to the scheduled bid opening. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check payable to the Village of Whitefish Bay equal to 5% of the largest possible total bid. The successful bidder's failure to execute the contract and furnish the performance bond within 10 days after the award shall cause the bid bond or check to be forfeited to the Village as liquidated damages in accordance with Section 62.15(3) of the Wisconsin Statutes. BID REJECTION/ACCEPTANCE: The Village will award the contract based on the total bid amount. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities in bidding or to accept the bid or bids, whichever best serves the interest of the Owner. The Contractor is encouraged to obtain minority-owned (MBE's), Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE's), or woman owned businesses (WBE's) to perform work or supply materials. Prior to the award, the Village will be reviewing the Contractor's submittals to meet the qualifications under minorityowned or woman-owned business. In addition, the Village encourages MBE's and WBE's to submit Bid Proposals. This project will be funded through an MMSD agreement with the Village of Whitefish Bay for Tree Procurement, Planting, and Maintenance.
