Renovation of an educational facility in Youngwood, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Request for Proposal #1041 Business & Industry Center HVAC Air Handler Replacement No bidder may withdraw his bid for the period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. The Westmoreland County Community College reserves the right to reject any and all bids. This scope of work covers the removal and replacement of the existing Air Handling Units (AHU-1 and AHU-2) and Condensing Units (CU-1 and CU-2). The new equipment will be reconnected to the existing ductwork and hot water piping, and new refrigerant piping will be installed to ensure proper operation of the system. The work will be performed in accordance with all applicable codes and industry standards. 2. Scope of Work 2.1 Demolition & Removal • Disconnect and remove the existing AHUs and condensing units. • Recover and properly dispose of existing refrigerant per EPA regulations. • Remove and dispose of old refrigerant piping, electrical wiring, and associated support as required. • Inspect existing ductwork and note any necessary repairs or modifications. 2.2 Installation of New Equipment • Install new AHUs and condensing units as specified. • Install new hot water coil connections to the AHUs including, control valves, shutoff valves, balancing valves, P/T Ports, air vents and drains. • Provide new vibration isolators for the AHUs. • Install new refrigerant piping from the condensing units to the AHUs, including insulation and new roof pipe portal. • Reconnect to the existing ductwork, ensuring proper sealing and airflow balance. • Install new condensate drain piping and ensure proper slope and drainage. • Rebalance existing VAV Boxes and hot water control valves as specified in the contract documents. • Provide Fire Dampers at all new duct penetrations through rated wallsElectrical & Controls • Disconnect and remove existing electrical feeds to the old unitsProvide and install new electrical wiring and connections for the new AHUs and condensing units. • Integrate new equipment with the existing Building Automation System (BAS) controls. • Verify and adjust control sequences for proper operation. 2.4 Testing, Commissioning & Cleanup • Perform leak testing on new refrigerant piping and charge system with manufacturerrecommended refrigerant. • Balance all airflows for AHUs. • Verify airflow and temperature settings to ensure proper operation. • Conduct startup and commissioning of both the AHUs and condensing units. • Provide system training for facility personnel, if required. • Remove all debris and materials from the site and leave the work area clean. 3. Exclusions • Structural modifications beyond standard unit mounting requirements. • Repairs or modifications to existing ductwork unless noted. • Modifications to building electrical service outside of unit connections.
