Reference Number 0000288241 Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/03/11 03:00:00 PM EDT The following scope of work serves to describe the need for a storage facility that will be required for this project. We are sourcing the rental of a Storage Facility to house crated heritage items including marble, mosaic tile, plasterwork, architectural metals, and woodwork components; some of which will contain lead paint, asbestos, and/or other hazardous materials as identified in the project documents. Note that any crates containing lead, asbestos or other hazardous containing components will be labelled with the proper identification and will be fully sealed. Bidders shall include all Supervision, labour, materials, tools, equipment, services, etc. required to complete all Storage Facility Works to the full extent of the drawings, specification, and TP-EW-02.4-Storage Facilities for a Complete Scope. Review all drawings, specification and notes of all disciplines to ensure that the complete scope of work is captured. Note: drawings of all disciplines are all inter-related. The scope of work shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: Storage facility is to have digital thermometers and hygrometer, c/w data recording and reporting minimum once a month which digitally records temperature and relative humidity levels once every 30 minutes. This live data needs to be made available to the Construction Manager but is the responsibility of the Storage Facility to ensure the readings are not outside of the prescribed ranges. A printed report of all the monthly readings and associated summary must be provided to the Construction Manager on the last working day of each month. Description of Storage unit: Storage facility to have the capacity to store greater than 5000 square feet of crated materials. Rental term and payment details Storage unit to be rented on a monthly basis with payment terms as established in rental contract Use restrictions and access rules Area designated for heritage item storage to remain access controlled to bidder employees with appropriate clearance. CM to supply list of personnel with clearance to access storage. Liability and insurance clauses Storage facility to provide insurance terms stipulating coverage Facility to be climate controlled with temperature to be maintained between 15-21 °C Relative humidity between 30%-70%, or as determined by the Consultant. Avoid sharp fluctuations. Location must be within 50 kilometers of 100 Wellington Location to have 24/7 surveillance including continuous monitoring with security cameras Location to have secure access control. Facility must be equipped with a sprinkler system in good working order. Standard wet sprinkler systems or dry sprinkler systems are acceptable. Must have an off-loading area for inspection of crates and A-frames prior to storage. Must be able to receive, offload, handle and store crates and A-frames up to a maximum weight of 500lbs Must be able to receive, offload, handle and store crates and A-frames of various sizes Store associated plaster-filled in-situ moulds, production casts and heritage plaster material in separate spaces of the storage facility, or as far apart as possible. Secure crates associated with plaster-filled in-situ moulds, production casts and heritage plaster material to storage shelving to minimize movement. Must provide engineering letter certifying loading capacity of shelves if not stored on slab on grade. Transfer of Care sign-off required after crate inspection by others Storage facility employee to offload crates and move to off-loading area for inspection. Storage facility employee to reload crates for shipping. Do not stack crates or A-frames containing mosaic flooring or marble components. Arrange crates and A-frames in such a way to facilitate access for potential inspection at any time. Space crates and A-frames 600 mm min. apart on all sides. Storage of heritage components shall be performed by workers specializing in the moving and transporting of fragile building components Storage price to be linked to Consumer Price Index and adjusted yearly for inflation Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
