Shanahan Middle School - Corridor Floor Replacement All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in the form of either a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond for the full amount of the bid (including all add alternates) or a certified check, cashier's check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to 10% of the bid (including all add alternates), as described in the Instructions to Bidders. It is suggested that bids being sent by mail, courier, FED-EX or UPS arrive at Olentangy Schools 24 hours prior to the bid opening. Submit all questions to Michelle Murphy at Olentangy Schools by phone (740-657-4008) or by e-mail (michelle_murphy@olsd.us) No Bidder may withdraw its bid within 60 days after the bid opening. The Board of Education reserves the right to waive irregularities in bids, to reject any or all bids, and to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the responsibility of a bidder. Please note that the Drawings should be verified by the Contractor. SCOPE OF WORK A. Single Prime Bid: This is a single prime lump sum bid for the Shanahan Middle School - Corridor Flooring Replacement at the Olentangy Local School District. See the attached Drawings and specifications for the extent of the Work. 1. The scope includes, but is not limited to, the following: a. Removal and disposal of existing VCT floor and rubber base. b. Skim coating and preparation of existing concrete subfloor below VCT floor for new flooring. c. Removal of existing integral terrazzo base and patching of the removed base at floor with concrete. d. Preparation and grinding of terrazzo flooring for installation of new SVT floor tile. e. Installation of new SVT floor tile. f. Installation of new rubber base. INTERPRETATION A. Pre-bid requests for interpretation for this project shall be directed to Michelle Murphy, Olentangy Local Schools at 740-657-4008 or e-mail at michelle_murphy@olsd.us. All requests must be written. B. If the Bidder finds any perceived ambiguity, conflict, error, omission, or discrepancy on or between any of the Contract Documents, including without limitation the Drawings and Specifications, or between any of the Contract Documents and any applicable provision of law, including without limitation, the Building Code, the Bidder shall submit a written request to the Owner or Architect, for an interpretation or clarification. 1. In order to prevent an extension of the bid opening, the Bidder shall make all requests for interpretation or clarification a minimum of 7 days before bid opening. C. Prospective bidders in doubt as to the intent of any part of the Drawings, Specifications or other Contract Documents shall submit to the Owner or Architect, not less than 7 days before closing time for bids, a written request for interpretation and clarification. Request made after 7 days may not be answered. D. Bidders are instructed to request interpretations and the issuing of addenda if the Contract Documents call for materials, equipment, or methods which adversely affect the cost or quality of the project, or are unavailable.
