Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Palmerton, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The work in general will include: several pavement reconstruction areas within the existing paved parking lot area. The proposed improvement will include pavement reconstruction areas which will include pavement removal, subgrade compaction, followed by a super pave asphalt base course. Pavement milling will be completed at the limits of work and adjacent to existing structures and inlets. The entire parking lot area will then be overlaid with a super pave asphalt wearing course. All pavement joints will then be sealed with an approved joint sealer and the paving lot striping will be replaced throughout the project area. All project areas and the parking lot improvements to be completed for this project will be contained within the existing lands owned by the Palmerton Area School District. All work is anticipated to commence after the close of the school year in June of 2025 and all work shall be completed by July 31, 2025. All bidders are encouraged to attend this pre-bid meeting to review the project area and to ask questions related to the bid package. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Palmerton Area School District or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory performance and payment bond or bonds in the amount of not less then one hundred percent (100%) of the estimated amount. An acceptable surety company is anyone included in the latest issue of the U.S. Treasury Department Circular 570 listings and approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance to do business in Pennsylvania. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this Project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The Successful Bidder will be required to provide the Palmerton Area School District with the following clearances for all workers, employees, and/or sub-contractors who will be preforming services on this site in the School District: Act 34, Act 151, as amended, and FBI background checks. The Palmerton Area School District reserves the right to reject all or any Bids or parts thereof and waive technicalities as it deems best in the interest of the School District. Additionally, all unit price and total cost amounts must be completed on the bid sheets to be considered a complete bid. Bids may be held by the Palmerton Area School District for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of the Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract.
