Site work and paving for a road / highway in Labelle, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The work to be performed consists of installing approximately 3,131.10 tons (16,874 long, 20 wide, 1 1/2 thick SP-9.5 asphalt and other associated work. 1. The Contractor shall establish and secure the work area which shall be restricted to construction activities by authorized personnel only and shall provide for the safe and ongoing public use of those areas not so restricted. When necessary for the protection of the public's safety, Contractor shall secure and restrict exclusive construction access ways to the work area(s). 2. Sweep and remove all grass and other debris from the area to be asphalted. 3. Mill all contact areas sufficiently to allow for a smooth transition from old to new asphalt at butt joints. 4. Apply bituminous tack coat on existing pavement areas to be resurfaced. 5. Install a minimum of 11/2" compacted type SP- 9.5 asphalt over the entire repair area. 6. Maintenance of traffic plans must follow the current FDOT Standard Plans for Road Construction 600 series. Any independent plan or revision must be approved by the District and signed and sealed by a Florida Professional Engineer. 7. Mill a 2' (foot) strip at each drive way for a transition of 0.5 inches or less. 8. Speed limit of 35MPH on all streets covered by this document. 9. Contractor shall provide a commercial dumpster of suitable size and coordinate its location with the Field Supervisor, if applicable.
