The project generally consists of roadway improvements along Green Street between Main Street and Franklin Boulevard. The total length of the improvements is approximately 925 linear feet, and includes site clearing, asphalt paving, concrete curb, sidewalk, and striping. Approximate quantities include: 1,000 cubic yards of roadway excavation, 750 tons of HMA base course, 375 tons of HMA surface course, 300 square yards of concrete sidewalk, 1,100 linear feet of concrete curb, concrete and hot mix asphalt driveway replacement, ADA ramp reconstruction, traffic striping . bid date notes: If bids are to be dropped off in person, it must be done by appointment in coordination with Pleasantville City Hall (609-484-3600, 18 N. First Street, Pleasantville). If a vendor wishes to, they may attend the official bid opening in person. If a vendor requires information regarding the submissions, they shall contact the City Engineer s office (Jordan Rizzo or Matthew Guarino) at (732) 462-7400. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or cash of not less than ten (10%) percent of the bid, but not more than $20,000.00, payable without any conditional endorsement as a guarantee that in case the contract is awarded to the bidder, they will within twenty-one (21) days thereafter execute such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bonds. Upon failure to do so, they shall forfeit the deposit as liquidated damages and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement by the bidder. No interest shall be allowed upon any such certified check or cash. A bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the bid, but not more than $20,000.00, may be substituted for certified check or cash. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certificate of Experience and Certificate of Equipment. Each bid must also be accompanied by a certificate of Consent of Surety from a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of New Jersey guaranteeing that if the proposal of the bidder be accepted they will furnish the bond set forth in the Instructions to Bidders and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a surety company bond in the full amount of the contract price indemnifying the City of Pleasantville, New Jersey for all proceed ings, suits or actions of any kind of description and conditional for the faithful performance of the work. The City reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities specified in the manner designated in the Specifications. The City reserves the right to award this contract based on funds available. The City Council of the City of Pleasantville reserves the right to reject any or all bids if in its opinion it is in the best interest of the City to do so.
