As of June 11, 2025, a design firm has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Canandaigua is requesting proposals for engineering services to design an ADA-compliant concrete pathway and design the connection to a new ADA-compliant kayak launch at Lagoon Park on the north end of Canandaigua Lake. The potential kayak launch manufacturers and specifications will be provided as part of this RFP. The selected consultant will design the concrete pathway that will connect the existing ADA compliant sidewalk that runs parallel to both the parking lot and the Outlet with the new ADA compliant kayak launch. The design will determine the location of the kayak launch along with connecting the kayak launch to the shoreline access area. We have provided a basic concept drawing showing the possible path and kayak launch location. The designs shall comply with the ADA standards for accessibility for the concrete pathway and access to the kayak launch. The selected consultant will provide draft designs, final design and construction drawings. The City of Canandaigua has received NYS Department of State grant funding (contract C1002606) to help complete this project. These design services are not expected to exceed $16,000. The City of Canandaigua requests sealed bids for Design of an ADA-Compliant Concrete pathway and Connection to A New Accessible Kayak Launch at Lagoon Park, Lakeshore Drive, Canandaigua, New York. All bids must be submitted on the attached Bid Proposal Form and include the Non-Collusive Bid Certificate as well as all other data requested on the Bid Proposal Form. The bid proposal notice shall be part of the specifications. No bids may be withdrawn after bid opening. All bids shall be in effect up to forty-five (45) days after bid opening. Substantial completion – by Monday July 14, 2025 The City reserves the right to waive any informalities or accept or reject any or all bids or options that it deems to best serve the needs of the City of Canandaigua. The last date for RFIs to be received will be Friday March 21st. If needed, the final addendum for this bid will be issued on Tuesday March 25th.
