The City of Sacramento (the "City") is soliciting sealed bids from qualified and experienced janitorial service providers. The City seeks to enter into contract with one or more janitorial service providers ("Contractor") to provide the highest level of janitorial cleaning and maintenance at approximately six dozen City buildings. City facilities shall be healthy (hygienic) and have a professional appearance. Facilities varies in their needs. Most have a three-day-a-week or five-day-a-week service schedule. However, the 911 Call Center, Animal Care, and the Police portion of the 300 Richards Blvd. building have a need for seven-day-a-week service with day porter service on weekdays and/or weekends. In addition, City Hall has porter service on weekdays. In addition to daily services, the janitorial service provider(s) shall also have regularly scheduled duties that are performed on a monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual schedule. The schedule for these services is to be approved by the City's Facilities Administrators. The services outlined in these specifications are to be considered as minimum requirements but in no way are they intended to limit the level of cleanliness. The highest standard of cleanliness shall be achieved and maintained. Prospective bidders are advised to read over all bid instructions, all attachments, and visit online referenced in this bid. Notes The City's Living Wage Ordinance applies to this contract based upon the contract type and dollar amount, however, this ordinance is void if employees' terms and conditions of employment are governed by a bona fide collective bargaining agreement containing an express waiver of Sacramento City Code Chapter 3.58. (Ord. 2003-082). In the event that the collective bargaining agreement contains this waiver, the wages outlined by the collective bargaining agreement apply. --- Special Notices Local Programs & Policies Local Business Enterprise (LBE) Participation Requirement applies. The Displaced Janitor Opportunity Act applies and has been enhanced by the City to a period of 90 days. The Living Wage Ordinance (LWO) applies if not specifically waived by a collective bargaining agreement. The Equal Benefit Ordinance (EBO) applies. The Considering Criminal Conviction Information in the Employment Application Process ("Ban the Box") Ordinance applies.
