Lenape’s ND roof consists of 28,682 s.f. of 45 mil fully adhered thermoplastic single ply polyester reinforced roofing installed in 2002. The thermoplastic roofing system was installed over the building’s original built-up roofing and insulation. The structural roofing system consists of light-weight concrete over corrugated steel deck. The thermoplastic roofing membrane was coated with an elastomeric acrylic roof coating system in 2017. This roofing system is out of warranty. The scope of the work of this Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR a. Removal and disposal of both the acrylic coated thermoplastic Kee-Elvaloy membrane overlay and roof insulation, as well as the building’s original built-up roofing and insulation to the existing lightweight concrete deck; the light-weight concrete deck shall be cleaned as required to accept the specified roof-ing adhesives in accordance with the roofing system manufacturer’s warranty requirements. Roof trim, roof fascia and accessories shall also be removed. b. Protection and preservation of the existing lightweight concrete and structural metal deck indicated to remain. c. Protection and modification of existing flashings and accessories required to remain. d. Preparation of existing roofing substrates and structures as required to receive new roofing materials, including, but not limited to new insulation, cover board, flashing, and roofing trim. e. Supply and installation of a new black 90 mil unreinforced EPDM single ply membrane (Firestone, Carlisle, or equal) installed over new recovery board and new flat and tapered insulation f. Supply and installation of flat and tapered insulation. g. Protection of existing building finishes outside the scope of this contract indi-cated to remain, and adjacent walls finishes. h. Extreme care shall be taken by the Contractor during installation of roofing systems to avoid damage to building systems located beneath the roof deck. i. Cleaning of the site. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to completely clear the work area of ALL demolition debris. Cleaning of the site shall take place on a daily basis, with all construction and demolition debris, trash receptacles and containers removed from the from the site each day. j. Notify the Owner and Architect in the event that hazardous materials are encountered during demolition operations, comply with applicable regulations, laws, and ordinances concerning removal, handling and protection against exposure or environmental pollution. k. Protection of all existing improvements to remain, and not specifically designated for demolition. Damage to existing buildings, grounds and improvements resulting from the work of this contract shall be shall be repaired and restored at no expense to the Owner. l. Protection of the project site, including but not limited to the installation of barriers and guards as required to protect staff and visitors to the site. m. Supply of the manufacturer’s total 30 year, non-prorated roofing system war-ranty, with 90 MPH wind speed rider and 90-mil Hail/Puncture Coverage. n.
