Question Deadline 03/18/2025 Clarifications to the Specifications, which if issued, will be mailed by certified mail with return receipt requested, or sent by facsimile to all Bidders of record, not later than seven (7) days prior to the date of the Bid Opening New Middle School Project CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL ON THE FORMER SITE OF WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. THE PROPOSED DESIGN FEATURES A 3- STORY MIDDLE SCHOOL ENCOMPASSING ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES, STUDENT SERVICES, PHYSICAL EDUCATION FACILITIES, FOOD SERVICE AREAS, GENERAL CLASSROOMS, AND OTHER ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL SPACES FOR GRADES 6 THROUGH 8. o FIRST FLOOR - FOR ADMINISTRATIVE, SUPPORT SPACES ACCESSORY TO EDUCATIONAL USE, CAFETERIA, GYM, LOCKERS, NURSE, INSTRUCTIONAL SPACE AND UTILITY SPACES. o SECOND FLOOR- FOR USE AS CLASSROOMS, ART SPACE, COMMON MEDIA SPACE, GYM SPECTATOR MEZZANINE, AND SUPPORT SPACES ACCESSORY TO EDUCATIONAL USE. o THIRD FLOOR- FOR USE AS CLASSROOM, LABORATORY SPACE, COMMON AREA, OUTDOOR ROOFTOP FIELD, AND SUPPORT SPACES ACCESSORY TO EDUCATIONAL USE. o STRUCTURE - STEEL FRAME WITH CONCRETE FLOORS ON METAL DECKING. o ROOF - METAL DECK ROOF WITH TAPERED INSULATION AND MODIFIED BITUMINOUS MEMBRANE SYSTEM. o EXTERIOR WALLS - BRICK VENEER OR ACM PANEL, AND ALUMINUM / GLASS WINDOW AND CURTAIN WALL SYSTEMS. Bids shall be submitted on the provide proposal forms and be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check of bid bond draw to the order of the Little Ferry Board of Education for not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, but in no case in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00). Bid securities shall comply with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-24. Bids shall include a Consent of Surety obligating the issuing surety company to provide the bidder and its subcontractors, if successful, with a New Jersey Statutory Performance and Payment Bond for public works projects in the full amount of the contract. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening date. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any informality in the bidding, as permitted by law. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
