Per the construction details, helical pile pairs are placed at 4 on center under the seawall stems and footings, with an additional helical pile placed between the pairs at 4 on center along the centerline of the public access Temporary shoring shall be contractor designed to ensure protection of the excavation and existing homes/ adjacent infrastructure during construction. Temporary shoring shall be contractor designed to meet the specific constraints of the project site including adjacent homes/infrastructure/easements & property lines during construction. he plans indicate Atlas RS4500.37, the plans have been revised to correct the Helical Anchor model to Atlas RS4500.337, Atlas Helical Anchors RS4500.337 are able to provide the required ultimate capacity, contractor may submit an equal product as a substitution. Repairs may have been performed historically which have introduced reinforcement into the existing wall. Although the record plans show no reinforcement, this cannot be confirmed. The preference is for a steel stop log system to be provided to the Town as part of this project for their deployment when necessary. Typical working hours are 7am-5pm, work outside of these times may be permissible with written approval from the Town. The contractor is required to follow all Massachusetts General Laws for Prevailing Wages. There are no Buy American requirements for this project. Achieving torque and pile depth requirements provided by the Helical Anchor supplier will provide satisfactory thresholds to confirm proper installation. A maximum of 100-feet of seawall may be demolished at any given time provided however the contractor must provide adequate storm protection measures in the event of incoming coastal storms. Construction joints shall be installed at 25-feet, expansion joints at 100- feet. Electronically transmitted bids will not be accepted, only hand delivered bids to the Scituate Town Hall will be accepted before 12:00 PM, Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
