Provide all equipment, labor, supervision, material, traffic control and any other incidentals necessary to perform Litter Removal Services to designated areas in Brunswick, Lunenburg and Mecklenburg Counties in the South Hill Residency in Richmond District on an on-call as-needed basis. The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT") is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide all equipment, labor, supervision, supplies (except bags), traffic control and any other incidentals necessary to perform Litter Removal Services to designated areas in Brunswick, Lunenburg and Mecklenburg Counties within the Richmond District's South Hill Residency on an on-call as-needed basis. SCOPE OF WORK: The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, tools, supplies (except bags), fuel, traffic control, and incidentals to remove and legally dispose of all litter from primary and secondary roadways and right of ways throughout the County for which an Award is received. For the purpose of this contract, litter is defined as anything that is not a natural part of the roadway or right-of-way such as household debris, tires, and trash. Natural vegetation, such as tree limbs, leaves and grass will not be defined as litter within this contract. Contractors awarded multiple Lots shall be capable of providing crews simultaneously in all Lots that they are awarded and shall complete a minimum of fifteen (15) acres per workday period per lot. The Contractor shall be capable of commencing work within ten (10) calendar days after contract award. Litter pick-up for the routes included herein shall be performed between mowing cycles only. Mowing Contractors shall perform litter pick-up ahead of mowing operations.
