Selma Unified School District (hereinafter referred to as "Owner") will receive sealed bids prior to the date and time stated for the bid opening for the award of a contract to construct the HEARTLAND CONTINUATION SCHOOL: RELOCATABLE CLASSROOM & TOILET BUILDING ADDITION in Selma, CA (the "Contract"), Project No.: 22-12466 District Bid No.: DSA File No.: 10-H16 DSA Appl. No.: 02-121074 The Owner reserves the right to add or deduct any of the additive or deductive items after the lowest responsible and responsive bidder is determined. The lowest bid shall be determined on the amount of the base bid. This Contract is subject to prequalification pursuant to Public Contract Code section 20111.6. The Contract Time shall be one hundred sixteen (116) calendar days, and liquidated damages for delay shall accrue. See Article III of the Agreement for details. Bids must be accompanied by a bidder's bond, cashier's check, or certified check for at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid and made payable to the Owner, as detailed in the Contract Documents. Pursuant to the Contract Documents, the successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment (Labor and Material) Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum, and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. The Owner will not consider or accept any bids from contractors who are not licensed to do business in the State of California, in accordance with the California Public Contract Code, providing for the licensing of contractors. In accordance with Section 3300 of said Code, the bidder shall have a Class "B" license at the time of award and shall maintain that license in good standing through Completion of the Contract and all applicable warranty periods. For all projects over Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000), the bidder shall state the public works contractor registration number on the Designation of Subcontractors form for each subcontractor performing more than one-half of one percent (0.5%) of the bidder's total bid. WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS A. The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. This project consists of (1) PC approved relocatable toilet building and (2) PC approved classroom buildings with associated site accessibility improvements and electrical upgrades to accommodate the new buildings. B. Type of Contract: Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. 1.5 WORK UNDER SEPARATE CONTRACTS A. General: Cooperate fully with separate contractors so work on those contracts may be carried out smoothly, without interfering with or delaying work under this Contract or other contracts. Coordinate the Work of this Contract with work performed under separate contracts. B. Concurrent Work: Owner has awarded and will assign to the Contractor separate contract(s) for the following construction operations at Project site. Those operations will be conducted simultaneously with work under this Contract. (REF 1. Relocatable Building Manufacturer: To American Modular Systems for the building manufacturing and installation of the concrete foundation systems specifically for the relocatable buildings 2. Electrical Equipment: To Pacific Gas & Electric for installation of the transformer and power connections.
