The County of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a consultant to develop a Comprehensive Systemwide Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The objective of this systemwide plan is to establish specific strategies, projects, and timelines crucial to the achievement of the County's long-term goals. The scope of this Comprehensive Systemwide Parks and Recreation Master Plan project is focused on the production of a pragmatic, actionable, 10-to-15-year plan for continued redevelopment and future development of the County's parks, golf, recreation, open space-nature preserves, trails and coastal access system. It encompasses the assessment of forecasted needs, the creation of realistic, financially sustainable implementation strategies and programs, and the recommendation of funding options. The systemwide master planning process will involve thorough research, extensive public engagement, and strategic recommendations across all department activities, including but not limited to facilities, programs, services, maintenance and operations, administration and management, capital improvements, and parkland acquisition/development.
