Tower Project Number: 2023131 Each bid shall be signed, sealed and accompanied by a bid bond of an approved Surety Company licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of PA in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid proposal. Bond shall be drawn in favor of the School District of Pittsburgh. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory 100% performance bond, 100% payment bond, and enter into a No-Lien Agreement with the School District of Pittsburgh. The School District of Pittsburgh reserves the right to waive any informalities in bids and to reject any or all bids. Question Deadline 07/17/2025 If any Bidder is in doubt about the meaning of any part of the Contract Documents as issued, or finds conflicts in their stipulations, or with regard to field conditions, the Bidder should submit to the Architect a written request for an interpretation during the bidding period. question must be received by the Architect at least five (5) days prior to the bid opening time. The Work consists of the following generalized scope items: a. Remove (2) existing cooling towers, (1) exhaust fan, (1) supply fan, (1) water-cooled chiller, (2) base mounted pumps, (2) in-line pumps, (1) duct mounted hot water coil and select piping and ductwork as indicated. b. Furnish and install (3) water-cooled chillers, (1) exhaust fan, (1) supply fan, (2) base mounted pumps, (6) in-line pumps, (1) duct mounted hot water coil. c. Install (2) owner furnished cooling towers. d. Furnish and install all ductwork, piping, valves, specialties, insulation, controls, and appurtenances required to place each piece of equipment into operation. e. Furnish and install new direct digital system controls to serve and monitor the new mechanical equipment. f. Furnish and install structural platform for service of cooling tower components as shown on Drawings. g. Carefully coordinate and train all piping, conduit, and appurtenance installations with the specific purpose of enabling unobstructed service to each serviceable mechanical equipment component to the satisfaction of the engineer and owner's representative. h. Train the owner's personnel on the proper operation and maintenance of the equipment. i. Furnish and install all necessary piping and devices, including but not limited to, piping, valves, flow plugs, etc. at existing condenser water piping system to ensure uninterrupted condenser water flow and existing cooling tower operation throughout the phased demolition and installation of existing and new cooling towers CT-1 and CT-2. During Phase 1, sufficient condenser water balancing devices shall be included in the condenser water bypass to enable the 3 rd party TAB firm to achieve minimum condenser water flow rate as possible under existing conditions. j. During Phase 1, coordinate with district, TAB, and commissioning authority to pre-test condenser water flow rates prior to demolition. Subsequent to installation of condenser water hot-tap bypass piping, coordinate with district personnel, TAB, and commissioning authority to test hot-tap bypass flow rate before commencing demolition of cooling tower CT-2.
