Site work for a municipal facility in Brisbane, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a municipal facility.

The City of Brisbane is seeking a qualified civil services consultant to provide the City with a final bid-ready design for the 2 retaining walls at the specified location on San Bruno Avenue. The consultant will provide the necessary services and expertise required to design the retaining walls and prepare a draft and final set of plans and specifications for the project. The City will provide no technical support on this project. The scope of work will include: Subsurface Investigation - Exploratory boring to aid in determining geotechnical properties and design criteria parameters. Traffic Control - A traffic control plan will be required during subsurface investigation Geotechnical Engineering Analysis - Laboratory testing and geotechnical analysis to formulate recommended retaining wall design parameters. Engineering Design, Drawing and Specification Preparation - Design 2 two soldier pile and wood lagging retaining walls with the specified dimensions and prepare a draft and final set of plans and specifications for the project. An electronic copy of the draft plans and specifications will be prepared for City comments. Signed hard-copy sets of plans will be transmitted to the City. The City has established a preliminary engineering (PE) budget of $57,255. As the PE phase of this project will utilize federal funding, a DBE goal of 27% ($15,500) has been established. Issue Notice to Proceed - March 24, 2025 As a result of heavy winter rainfall in December 2022, sliding on the uphill side occurred at two locations along San Bruno Avenue in Brisbane, CA. The first slide occurred roughly 300' south of Thomas Avenue along San Bruno Avenue. The second slide is approximately 80' south of the first slide. The City of Brisbane proposes constructing two soldier pile and wood lagging retaining walls to restore the uphill slope that has eroded due to the intense storm events that occurred in the City of Brisbane. The first wall, located approximately 300 feet south of Thomas Avenue, will be about 40 feet long and 7 feet high. The second wall, situated around 80 feet further south of the initial slide area, will be approximately 70 feet long and between 8 and 14 feet high. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
