Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in High Point, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the addition of a sidewalk / parking lot; for the demolition of a sidewalk / parking lot; for the renovation of a sidewalk / parking lot; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Bids are invited for work as follows as well as all related miscellaneous work: The installation of the new building addition at the High Point Maintenance Facility. The individual scope items generally include the following as shown on the Construction Drawings. a. Erosion control and temporary seeding b. Selective site clearing and demolition c. Unclassified mass grading and fine grading d. Underground water supply and storm drainage improvements e. Electrical improvements f. Parking and infrastructure improvements g. Sidewalk and concrete flat work h. Maintenance building (6,000 SF) All miscellaneous work related to the above. Quantities and major work items are more thoroughly described herein. General contractors are notified that "An Act to regulate the Practice of General Contractors", Section 87-1 through 15, ratified by the General Assembly of North Carolina, on March 10, 1925, and as subsequently amended will be observed in receiving and awarding general contracts. No proposal shall be considered or accepted by the City Council unless at the time of its filing the same shall be accompanied by a deposit with the City of High Point of a certified check on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. In lieu of making the deposit as above provided, such bidder may file a bid bond executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds; conditioned that the surety will upon demand forthwith make payment to the City of High Point upon said bond if the bidder fails to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. This deposit shall be retained if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within ten (10) days after award or fails to give satisfactory surety as required herein. A separate performance and payment bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required after bid award. In accordance with the Federal "Americans with Disabilities Act" (the Act), the City of High Point will not discriminate against individuals, and will not do business with vendors who discriminate against such individuals in violation of the Act. All prospective bidders are urged and cautioned to attend so as to prepare bids based on a full understanding of project specifications.
