Renovation of an educational facility in Hazard, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project involves roof work at the Hazard Community and Technical College on the Heavy Equipment, Devert Owens, Walter Prater, and First Federal buildings. The Heavy Equipment and Devert Owens buildings will both have their existing roofs completely removed and replaced with a new two-ply SBS modified bitumen roofing system installed over new insulation and coverboard. The Walter Prater building will receive a recover roof system, with a new two-ply SBS modified bitumen roof installed over a cover board set above the existing roof. Any surface defects in the existing roof will be repaired before the new system is installed. The First Federal building will have all four gutter roof areas replaced with a new fluid-applied roofing system. The standing seam metal roof will also be prepped and repainted, with a new coping cap installed over the existing stone coping cap on the metal roof sections to match the low-slope roof areas, along with miscellaneous tuckpointing of the stone cornice. The Devert Owens building will also include repainting the scupper/downspout boots, canopies, the metal siding and siding at the higher building section. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee (in the form of a bid bond or certified check) of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the lump sum base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and a separate 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instructions to Bidders and/or General Conditions. Bonds should be executed by a surety company authorized to do business by the Kentucky Secretary of State and the Kentucky Department of Insurance within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Estimate: $3,356,018 Technical Questions Shall Be Emailed to the Architect/engineer of Record for This Project. The Kentucky Community & Technical College System reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive all informalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the Commonwealth may be served.
