South Suburban is looking for bids for the Household Hazardous waste facility. ALL BIDDERS MUST BE PRE-QUALIFIED A 10% Bid Bond is required of all bidders. A 100% Performance Bond and a Labor/Material Bond will be required of the successful bidder, written by a Surety approved by the Owner. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the Contract, will furnish a satisfactory performance and payment bond, execute the Contract and proceed with the work. Upon failure to do so, the bidder shall forfeit the amount deposited as liquidated damages and no mistakes or errors on the part of the bidder shall excuse the bidder or entitle him to a return of the aforementioned amount. Compliance with all requirements of the laws of the State of Illinois shall be mandatory. These requirements shall include, but are not limited to, payment of the prevailing wage including fringe benefits for labor on the work to be done, the provisions of all State of Illinois and federal laws concerning public works projects, the State of Illinois Human Rights Act, and the regulations of the Illinois Human Rights Commission. Business Enterprise Program (BEP) participation is applicable to all solicitations made by South Suburban College. To show good faith efforts to meet the current 30% participation goal on a contract, the bidder must either a) meet the BEP goal and document its commitments for participation of BEP firms, or b) when it does not meet the BEP goal, document its Good Faith Efforts to try to meet the goal.
